Shop Floor Data Capture
Shop Floor Data Capture-enhanced requires a form of planning software, however there is the possibility to use SFDCe without the need for a planning tool, contact Tricorn for more information.
The SFDCe window will open displaying all the relevant operations for this terminal. Individual settings can be applied to filter the content of the window.

Tools
Find… Ctrl+F | Use this shortcut key to open a mini window where detail relating to Customer, W/O Number. W/O Description, Part Number and Work Centre can be selected |
Mode | Active (Record Times) – Times will be recorded against each operation Passive (Queue Only) – No time will be recorded, used for view only |
Setup | Clients – opens a window where all relevant operations can be identified for the terminal (admin only) Database – if multiple Tricorn databases are in use these can be selected here (admin only) |
Options | Clear Job Location when Op Finished – the job location can be indicated on each operation, use this button to remove any references |

View
Show My Work | Opens a window displaying all the current operations the selected employee is working on excluding any external work |

Toolbar
Est – displays the estimated time for the operation
Recorded – displays the current recorded time for the operation
Total – displays the total time for the operation
Build Qty – displays the build quantity for the operation
Completed – displays the quantity completed for the operation
Scrapped – displays the quantity scrapped for the operation
Find
The find icon opens a mini window where a drop down menu will display the search criteria. Insert the related detail use the forward or back arrows to move through the operations.
To clear the content of the detail field, use the clear button
If using a tablet device with no external keyboard the keyboard button can be used to insert text
Calendar
This icon opens a calendar where a date selector will appear. There are two radio buttons, Use Calendars and Use Default Periods.
Use Calendars – activates the date pickers where the start and end date can be set, highlight the part of date to change, use the rocker buttons to increase or decrease.
Use Default Periods – once selected preset defaults will appear replacing the date pickers. Days in the past and future can be set separately or together.
Op Status
Op status is used to filter operations within the main SFDC-e window, once ticked the operation reaching that status will be viewable, for instance if no Finished operations were required untick and when the operation has finished it will disappear from the window.
Filter Delivered/Invoiced W/Os
If this filter is ticked any works orders with a status of delivered/invoiced regardless if an operation has been started/finished will not be displayed. Untick to display all operations at all works order status.
Show External
This button will open a window displaying all subcontract operations.
Press the Start Button to Start an External Operation.
Select the start time for the subcontract operation to start and tick the Set Order as Off-Site to change the status of the works order. The operation status will change to WIP.
When the operation is to be stopped, press the Pause button. The Clock off an External Operation window will open, where the quantity finished can be entered and tick boxes to complete operation and reset the works order status to Issued. Notes can be added to record any information; these will update the time record.
The operation will now display as finished
Operations
Column Headings
Columns, these can be repositioned depending on the user’s person preference. Click on the column heading and keeping the left mouse click depressed move left or right to reposition.
Status – Status of the operation – Not Started, Ready, WIP
Machine – Machine the operation relates to
Machine Name – Name of the machine
Order – Works Order number
OP – Operation number
Start Date – Start date of the operation
End Date – End date of the operation
Delivery Date – Delivery date of the works order
Priority – priority level set against the works order
Customer – Customer name
Order Description – Works order description
Drawing – Drawing number
Sched – Date the operation was scheduled through a planning board
Part / Iss – Part and Issue number
Ready – Indicates this operation is ready to move to the next operation
Job Location – Job location indicates where the job currently is located
Planned – Planned start time
Planned – Planned end time
Each column heading can be sorted ascending and descending by clicking on them, an arrow will appear on the right indicating the direction of the sorting.
Operations Table
Each line within this table contains information relating to the operations.
This button indicates the next operation within the works order to be started
This button indicates a file has been attached to the works order.
This button indicates the operation is at a status of WIP
This button indicates the operation as finished; these operations will only display if the filter is set to display finished operations.
Status Bar Buttons
Start button – selecting this button will start the highlighted operation. The following window will appear, OK will confirm the Start at time. Select the relevant radio button, Setting time or Run Time. Please note: the ability to change the time is an admin function and may not be available. Times can only go backward not forward.
Work Centres – selecting this button will open all available work centres applicable to admin setup. Filters can be applied to display, Single, Groups and External work centres.
Employees – selecting this button will open all employees active within Tricorn. If multiple employees has been selected a picking list of all employees will appear. Filters can be applied to display, Recent or All employees. Recent will display employees who have been selected more recently.
Refresh button – selecting this will refresh the page for any changes, this is in addition to Auto Refresh.
Start an Operation
If using multiple employees, select the No Employee Currently Selected button to open the Active Employees picking list. There are two filters, Show Recent and Show All.
Select the employee, OK to continue.
Once the employee has been selected, highlight the operation to be started then select the Start button to continue, the Clock on to Operation window will open, select OK to start the operation
The status of the operation will change to WIP
Repeat this process if using multiple users.
If using single user the name will display with the Pause button visible.
Stop an Operation
Highlight the operation to be stopped, the operation status should be WIP, select the Pause button to open Time Recording window where the quantity finished can be input, acknowledge the operation is finished by selecting the Finish button. Please note: the time will continue to record until the Save button is selected.
When the operation has been completed the next operation on the job will display as Ready.
Options when completing an Operation
Within the Time Recording window there are additional options to indicate any manual changes to the operation.
Edit – the time accrued can be adjusted, although only increased not decreased, once adjusted select the Apply button
Qty Finished – insert the quantity finished
Scrap – insert the quantity to be scrapped
Add Notes – notes can be added to the operation, these will appear within time recording
Setting – this radio button indicates the time accrued is setting time
Run Time – this radio button indicates the time accrued is for run time
Break Code – a break code can be applied if the operator is taking a break from this operation and the reason for it. Break codes are setup within the parameters, Tools – Setup – Options/Checks – Other Settings – System Code Maintenance.
Scrap Code – a scrap code can be applied if the items from the operation need to be scrapped, the codes indicate the reason for the scrappage. Scrap codes are setup within the parameters, Tools – Setup – Options/Checks – Other Settings – System Code Maintenance.
Finish – this button will finish the operation, if this button is selected in error it is possible to Un-finish the operation to make any adjustments
Current Job Location – indicates against the works order where the job is currently located. The location is cleared when the operation is finished.
Breaks
To apply a break within an operation, select the Breaks button. Please note: a break code will not appear, if a reason is required Pause the operation where a Break Code can be selected.
A pop up message will appear advising all operations will pause for the employee.
A bar will appear at the bottom of the window to indicate this employee is currently on a break. The bar will continue to flash until it is pressed to finish the break. Progression on any operation is not possible until the break has been stopped
Documents Attached
Any supporting documentation attached to a works order can be viewed within SFDCe.
Double click on the operation where the Order Information window will appear. Within this window multiple options are available to view additional information including any files attached.
Select the Order Attachments tab to view attached documents, double click to view the content.
There is also a tab to view any files attached to an individual operation.
Order Operations
Double click on any operation to display all supporting information.
Op Notes – any notes on an operation will be displayed
Order Progress – displays the progression of the works order, the current status of the operation.
Order Attachments – files attached to the works order
Op Attachments – files attached to the operation, double click to view the content
Operators on this Op – displays all current operators on the operation with the date and time started
Change Work Centre
To change the current work centre, right click on the operation select Change Work Centre
The Machine Swapper window will appear, highlight the operation to change to, select Swap to confirm the change. Please note the warning message relating to the planner.
Show My Work
The current employee using SFDCe can view their current work.
It is also possible to close an operation using this method, enter all the detail as per Stop an Operation
Select Save to close the window.
Inspection Types – Employee Rights
Inspection types can be applied to ensure an operation is signed off before continuing to next operation. The employee rights to use this option will need to be created within the Setup parameters.
All employees who have the rights to sign off an inspection type will be ticked in the Employee Rights window.
Please note: these windows are only available to users with Admin access.
Apply the Inspection Type
Within each operation an Inspection Type can be applied, use the drop down to select.
In SFDCe, if the employee does not have the rights to finish the operation which contains an Inspection Type, the wording of the Inspection Type will appear in red within the following window.
This will indicate to the employee they will need to have the operation signed off before completion.
If the employee has Inspection Rights the wording will appear in green and progress will be available.
