Release V884.32 – 15th October 2021

Introduction

Updated versions of our ERP systems have been released. The purpose of this document is to present an overview of the new developments included within the release.

If you have any feedback about our software products, please get in touch at support@fitfactory.com. Many of the features added to the products are as a result of ideas and inputs from our customers and partners.

NB – the latest version of the fitfactory modules will be released on 25th October 2021, so not all of the integrated functionality mentioned in this document will be available until after this date.

Major Developments

1.       Framework Upgrade

We have upgraded DNA’s framework to .net 4.7, thereby improving overall performance and allowing greater integration with Fitfactory modules. We now have enhanced integration with fitfactory.com applications:

  • Insightsis our business intelligence platform allowing you to create custom reports, KPIs and dashboards in real-time. You can set rules that trigger alerts and send emails when exceptions occur, so you receive a notification of any issues. Additionally, you can easily share reports and dashboards with customers, so they always have the latest information on their job. (This app was formerly known as analytiQs)
  • Paperless replaces fragmented spreadsheets with a simple integrated system. It captures manufacturing data for contract review, machine maintenance, sustainability initiatives, HR or pretty much anything you can think of. And brings your information into one place, that you can access anywhere. (This app was formerly known as iQapture)
  • Asset Manager allows you to simplify calibration and asset management with an intuitive system that keeps everything in one place and gives full traceability. (This app was formerly known as Calibrate)
  • CRM can help you to build strong relationships with your customers and nurture relationships from prospecting through to purchase, repeat orders and future engagements.

2.       Insights Integration & Control Centre – available after 25/10/21

In addition to the 18 datasets that were pushing DNA data to the insights module, we now also have the parts & machine maintenance/breakdown datasets.

A large number of ID fields have been added to all of the datasets, allowing users to join tables together to create merged datasets, with more comprehensive ranges of fields. Improvements have also been made to the filter types and data formats of the data being passed from DNA to ensure consistency and maximum useability within Insights.

Modifications have been made to the Network=>Control Centre to allow it to incorporate some of the Insights functionality. Users with a full Insights licence can set up and customise their company’s control panel dashboards in Insights – downloading our existing templates from the library as required. These can then be linked and viewed on the in the Control Centre.

Within DNA, permissions to access each of the Control Centre areas (Management, Customer Centre, Production & Operations, Supply Chain, Accounts & HR and Quality) can be set up in Data=>HR=>User Role. Webviews of the Insights dashboards can then be setup within DNA for users to view the data (amendments to the dashboard layouts/formats are not possible within DNA)

When opening tables within the Control Panel, hyperlinks enable users to immediately access the relevant information, and update or action as required.

3.     SFDC improvements

Several improvements have been made to the SFDC module:

  • A barcode/QR code scanning option has been added to the login page – unique user QR codes can be printed using the blue printer icon next to the Employee No. on Data=>HR=>User Management.
  • The planning sheet template now includes a barcode which can be scanned on the SFDC to allow progress to be simultaneously recorded on all jobs with the shared operation.
  • Lists of the tooling allocated to each job and to the current operation are now available
  • A new customisation option has been added – ‘Allocation of Job Quantity GIN is mandatory to complete operation’. When applied, operators will not be able to complete operations until all planned materials have been allocated.
  • When internal rejects are recorded on the SFDC, there is now a Problem Description field to allow the operator to record further details.
  • A field has been added on the operation progress screen to record oven temperatures when adding operation progress, this is available for special process and heat treatment companies.

4.     Visual Stock Location improvements

When you navigate to Network=>Inventory=>Visual Stock Location, you’ll see all locations set up within your system, and all of the GINs currently located in each. Records can be filtered by a specific GIN number or a material code if you need to locate stock items. Drag & drop functionality means you can update stock locations simply by moving the GINs on the screen – perfect for stock takes.

Right clicking on any GIN record will open a window displaying the item details.

5.     Temporary Part Numbers on RFQs

Sometimes, it is necessary to regret or reject customer RFQs, in these instances, you don’t want part numbers you are never going to receive orders for ‘cluttering up’ your database.

It is now possible to create ‘temporary parts’ on RFQs that will not appear in your parts list. When adding parts to an RFQ using the green ‘+’ button, any part numbers entered that don’t already existed will be saved to the RFQ and only added to the parts list if you decide to quote for them.

It is now also possible to select a reason when regretting or rejecting an RFQ, meaning you can now track if you are turning away work due to, for example, missing customer approvals, being unable to carry out required processes or being short of capacity.

Parts that appear on quotes will automatically have a status ‘quoted’ so won’t appear on the parts list, unless the tick box hiding them is unticked.
